The value of this book lies not in the quantity of recipes (40) but in the quality; they're all well explained and illustrated. If you're just starting to dabble in French cuisine, this could be the book for you. Favourites French dishes such as Moules Mariniere, Coq au Vin, Gratin Dauphinois, Tarte Tatin, Lemon Tart, Creme Brulee are covered, but there many others, which will inspire the novice, cook.
